Hello. I was trying to find out for sure how the colors work in AccuRender. It seems as if you can create a component using the family editor, then, once you select a material, the only color choices you have are with the materials in Revit. For example, if you pick metal as a material, can't you select what color the metal is? For example, I made a metal mailbox (black), with the little red flag and everything, but when I render the scene, the mailbox shows up as a shiny metal, not the colors I selected with the materials when I created the component. Any suggestions? Surely, I missed something. Thanks a bunch!

Accurender can be a little confusing because you've got a color representation in your "shaded with edges" view and you've got the actual material with all of its properties that accurender uses. When you go into the material selection window in the edit properties, you'll see that you've got a texture, a surface pattern, and a cut pattern. The texture is what Accurender sees. The patterns are what you see. When you go into the textures and choose a material, the preview you see on the right is the material as accurender will render it. If you want a black metal mailbox, my suggestion would be to use the color black as your material and change the reflectivity to make it appear to be metal.
