According to Revit, pads can share edges but not overlap. I tried aligning edges to a reference plane but get an overlapping error. If I offset even 1/256", I can make the pad but I get the topo surface not being cut in that small area.

When a pad intersects a toposurface it automatically joins itself making it no longer possible to snap to the edge points. Try drawing you pads well above the toposurface and align them first. Then lower the pads to the correct locations. I attempted sharing edges with a pad and had no problem if i drew a reference plane in first where i want the shared edge to be. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Solution: I edited the pad sketches, and instead of aligning the old lines to the reference planes, I erased them and redrew the areas using the rectangle tool. Perhaps there is some angular fuzz or something when just using lines/align that is avoided when using rectangles. Post edited on 2004-10-07 09:54:03
