I cant seem to place light fixtures correctly. I can put them on the ceiling but I cant snap them to the grid. same thing for mechanical air terminals. I created a new project and linked in the architects model but systems doesn't recognize the ceiling grid as something to snap to. If I work directly in the Architects Central File everything works fine. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. I tried several methods for working with Building/Systems together, and it all seemed very complicated. I ended up just working in the building file instead of linking.

On with the ranting! Autodesk needs to fix this issue ASAP! Interoperability between Revit platforms is a necessity. What is the point of releasing version 9.1 of Revit Building, and not updating Systems?!? We cannot open or even link a Building 9.1 file into our Systems version 1 projects! There is no collaboration until Autodesk releases compatible versions!

That being said, Autodesk either needs to make Revit backwards compatible, continue to upgrade each platform when one platform does, of (my choice) undo the split-up of Revit platforms. Combine structural, systems, and building into one product. This would be the best option of all for the users. Structure and Systems has a smaller user base than Building does, but we cannot be shoved aside for monetary reasons!

I use systems and building, and their interoperability stinks. I'm sure that is the case for structure as well.
