Curious to know how folks are creating schedules for curtain walls set within a wall. Here in my office we typically create a separate schedule with an elevation drawing of each frame and add dimensions for the frame and keyed details for the jamb/sill/head conditions. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this easily with revit..... The only thing I can think of is a bunch of little elevation views of each frame and place those on a separate sheet. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

You are on the right track. You can do the elevations as you suggest and then hide the elevation marker. Of you could do a callout of the wall elevation and then leave the callout or hide it. This is one of those standards issues that needs to be thought about transitioning to Revit. The other possibility is to do the "curtain wall" as a window. Is it truely a curtain wall or did you use a curtain wall in place of a window family that can act like a curtain wall. My 2 cents is that if you try to make Revit into a CAD system then you will miss out on the power of Revit. Tom

yes, it really is curtain wall. otherwise, windows can easily be placed in a legend; but not easily dimensioned or keyed with details in the legend view.... is that what you had in mind?

For a curtain wall I would use the callout method on the wall elevation. FYI....you can do a schedule for curtain systems, panels and mullions which may give you a different and way to add information to your CD's that traditionaly was not easy to come by. For the details of the curtain mullion conditions you could do a drafting view where you link in hte CAD file from the manufacture, embelish it with Revit detail components and line work. Then cut a new section, AND BEFORE PLACING SECTION CHECK "REFERENCE OTHER VIEW" on the option bar and then reference your drating view. This is a way to have Revit still manage section and detail cuts that are 2D based drafting views. HTH Tom
