toilet auotmatically comes foreground...but other 3d families don't...have an idea?

If you go into the sink or tub family you'll probably find that the visibility of the model objects are turned off in plan view or the model objects are non-existant. We typically use detail components in plan view with a vertical invisible model line to hide the floor patern beneath. Search for "Ultra Lightweight 3D Models" on AUGI for more information on this technique.
