I'm having difficulty changing my fireplace to a different type of stone. When I load the family back into the project, not only is the hatch pat gone, but the fireplace appears yellow/brown and renders the same. Anyone have any suggestions, please. Thanks

Materials are not overwritten when reloading a family. Either duplicate the material in the family and then reload into the project, then select the new material in the project. OR modify the material in the project to match that of the family. HTH.

I think it works best if you don't try to assign the material in the family. Instead add a new pararemter to the family type. When editing the family you will have an option for Family Types... in the Design Bar. Set the Group Parameter Under: to Materials and Finishes. Set the Name: to something like, Material, and set the Type: to Material. Make sure to select the oppropriate radio button for Instance or Type, whichever you want it to be. I would probably leave it as Type, unless you want different materials on different firplaces in the same project. Leave the Discipline set to Common. Then save your Family and Load into Project. Now go into the project and select the fireplace, then assign the material. I think that this will solve your problem. Let me know how it goes. Keep on clickin' ArchWestCY

Thanks everyone! Great help and great response time! I will upload my Fireplace soon. Will the maps I've applied stick when I upload? Thanks, Poppy
