can you import it to autocad? If you can, then save to dwg and then import to Revit. Post edited on 2004-09-28 17:31:33

No, I cant find any way in the help files to import it. I am told it is possible in Autocad MAP. Any one know of a way to import .shp files into REVIT or AutoCad?

We use a 3rd party converter. There are several on the market, we use "Arcv2CAD 3.2" Shapefile to DXF/DWG Converter. Several of the products will allow you to use them a few times before purchasing, if you just need it for one-time use.

yes, I found Arcv2CAD at http://www.guthcad.com/arcv2cad.htm Worked well. Each shape file was a separate layer which is separately converted to a dxf file. I converted these in autocad. You can import dxf direclty to revit also. I don't know how many areas have it, but this particular county had a nicely organized GIS department with topo, property, soils, hydrology, floodplain maps all in the .shp file, available for a small fee, great for prelim. land planning.
