this was asked a while ago, but i wanted to revisit it. my office does a lot of panelized guard rail systems (be it mesh, glass or metal panel). is there a pre-created family for this? if not, what is the best way to go about modeling it? i dont think we would need it to render beautifully, but it would be nice to have a family to drop in as opposed to drawing it in the overall plans, the enlarged plans, and any pertinent section/elevations as well.
Thanks!

Why not just create it as a rail?
You can assign thickness, height & material as well as location.
I did that with a mesh panel.
