Just work with them a bit more, they arnt that bad when you get used to, but they arent easy to get used to.  They just take alot of manipulating.  What do you mean a nice normal stair?  Making U shaped, L shaped, and linear stairs arnt really that bad at all...what are you getting caught up on?

I will have to second bronco on this one.  There is nothing about revit that isn't difficult to use without regular practice.  The stair tool especially.  I will however request that many hours be spent researching additional features that should be added to the staris (Room Boundary, stringer and chord parameters, etc.)

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
