I'm setting up the exterior wall types for a new project and I know that they will all be 1'8" from the outside edge to the column lines in plan. I'd like to be able to consistently hold this dimension offset from the column lines.
Is there a way I can set this up in the new wall types? I know it's possible AFTER placing the wall by dimensioning the column line to outside of wall and locking it. But I'd like it to be integrated in specific wall type.

Why not just adding some air to your wall type .... non printing & then use the inside face to layout..... of course, then you can't dimension to it.
I think the above is a fun answer but why don't you just add some temporary lines or planes and then delete them.

Can't you just type in 1'8" as the offset when creating walls? That at least cuts out the step of dimensioning to the column line but still references it for locking.
