is it a possibility to import a file from Revit 9 to 3 dsmax8 directly?(in 3dsmax format) or have to save as dwg. and then import? And how import dwg from Revit 9 as a solids(not mesh)?

the only way to do it is through dwg (as far as i know). to export as solids, go to the export options and select ACIS solids instead of polymesh.

How long was the process from finished revit file to finished rendered 3ds max 8? That is the best rendering i have seen. i like the 3ds max rendering better than the revit ones. What is the learning curve on 3ds max?

i have no idea about the learning curve, i have been maxing since i had my first computer, and was using max 2.5 by kinetix. for this kind of renderings you will need an additional good quality global illumination plugin like finalRender, Vray or Brazil r/s although the included mental Ray looks pretty solid too. for me, the scene setup takes a few hours. mostly material mapping (scaling and rotating) adding some better quality entourage (furniture, paintings, electronics, etc) and the light setup. you can check out some more of my revit and max stuff at cepa.deviantart.com cheers Post edited on 2006-07-20 02:32:01
