Revit makes it easy to rotate a view on the sheet. Your options are: None, 90 Clockwise, and 90 Counterclockwise. I need to rotate a view 32 degrees Counterclockwise. Does anyone know how to edit this feature of Revit to include more rotation options? Live and Learn ArchWestCY

Ya. I noticed that too. This seems like a flaw to me. What's the point of rotating at all if its just going to look messed up. Sorry for the rant. My boss wants to see his stair detail parralell to the bottom of the sheet, how do I accomadate? I am posting this question on my AutoDesk subscription, and will share any results. ArchWestCY

Hmm yea its annoying ay. The only thing i can think of is Export> Image. Export that detail view out of ur project, save it, then import it back into ur project and you should be able to rotate it. Maybe?... I think... ha. I dunno...

Export Import. Ah such wise advise. If I export it to a .dwg, rotate it, and import it back in it should work. Maybe even the text would be right. Thanks for the idea. This isn't over yet. ArchWestCY

This is what Autodesk had to say. As you know; Revit viewports can only be rotated at 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Since your building needs a rotation other than this, we can only do one of a few things: 1. Rotate the actual building elements in the model (undesirable). 2. Make a new duplicate view and manipulate this view's True North vs Project North. 3. Create a new project for plotting and link in the other Revit project. Steps for option two above: 1. Duplicate the view you need rotated. 2. Open that views properties and switch the option orientation to "True North" 3. Ok out. 4. Click inside the drawing area of this view (to activate it) 5. Choose "Tools -> Project Position and Orientation -> Rotate true north". 6. Set the rotation you want for this view. 7. Any view now set to "True North" will show this orientation in both the view and the sheet. Steps for option three above: 1. Make a new Revit Project. 2. Link in the project containing the views needed, 3. Rotate that file link to the desired angle, 4. Make a sheet in this new project for plotting, 5. Drag that view to a sheet within this project. Please let me know if this helps you to resolve your issue. ArchWestCY

Find it hard to believe people don't know this: You can rotate any view an arbitrary amount on a sheet by selecting a the views crop region and rotating it the desired amount. AMAZINGLY THE VIEW CROP REGION REMAINS IN POSITION and the view rotates. HTH.

are you rotating it in the view or on the sheet once the view is placed ? once placed on a sheet my rotate option is greyed out i can rotate it in the view using the crop region and that is reflected in the sheet but if i place the view on a sheet without rotating and select the crop region, rotate is not available am i missing something?

Mr. Spot is a hero. I mean that, you saved my butt. It worked like a charm. Coreed, if the view is already on the sheet you will need to activate the view before you can rotate it. I can't believe that AutoDesk doesn't know this. Doesn't that seem odd. I'm glad to see that subscription is paying off. lol I guess in all fairness I should clue them in. Thanks for the community, and help. ArchWestCY

I just did what you described by selecting the cropping window starting the rotate command and indicated 90 degrees.

When I pressed enter my drawing session ended as if the enter command was a kill switch

any thoughts.

At one time I was able to select the crop view and rotate my views any degree that I desired as Mr. Spot indicated above.  Something happened to my project file which unrotated one of my floor plan views that I had rotated 90 degrees (but didn't unroate any of the others) and now the option of rotating it is greyed-out.  The rotate option is greyed-out on about 90% of my other drawings as well.....does anybody know what I might have done to the file to make this happen?  ....Mr. Spot??
