I'm working on a grading plan. I created a callout to display the "Original Contours", and placed that view on my sheet. I than went back to the original "Site Plan" and continued modifying the grades and adding notes. I want to now take the updated "Site Plan" and insert it in my sheet with the "Original Contours" view. The View dialog box does not give me the choice of "Floor Plans: Site"? The Project Browser list both views when I expand the sheet views, but I don't see it? What's the relationship between a plan view and it's callout? How do I find my Site Plan? One more quick question please; Why won't my title block update when I reload it from family editor? I have the dialog box update the parameters, but they don't update in the project. Thanks for any help.

I'm confused :{ You say your project browser lists both views... How can you then not see it?? You must be seeing it in order to know that it lists both views. A callout is essentially a cropped duplication of the original plan. When you create a callout you can pick between different types of views if you have them setup (for instance, a detail plan or something). If you can't see both in your project browser then you may have a filter set on you project browser to not display views on sheets. Change it to "All". HTH. What types of fields aren't updating? Check to make sure there isn't multiple types of the family loaded.

I'm confused too Mr Spot. My two views listed under the sheet in project browser, both have the floor plan icon. I thought my "Original Contours" view would have a callout icon. I couldn't figure out how to access a filter for "Site Plan" view, I never created one, that I know of. The Element Properties dialog box for my "Site Plan" view, list the sheet name and number. Which has me even more confused. How do I find if that view has a filter? The "Original Contour" view is "demo" and my "Site Plan" view is set to show demo & new. Part 2: I'm setting the line width on my title block in the family editor, but when I load into project the lines are still thin. I changed the line settings in the family editor and in visibility/graphics dialog box. Thanks for helping again.

I fixed it! Here's how I did it. while in sheet view, I highlighted the listed drawing on the browser, that I could not see. One of the choices was "remove from sheet", so I did. I was than able to "add view" to the sheet and this time it showed up. Go figure. I've noticed that Revit will occasionaly glitch, which drive us neophytes crazy. Mr Spot, I'm still interested in what you have to say, regarding the line widths I changed on my title block, but do not update when I load it back into my project. Thanks again.

Its because object styles do not get overwritten when you reload a family. You need to edit the object styles in the project for titleblocks and match the settings there. HTH.

I think I'm doing that Mr Spot. I highlight the sheet, right click, visiblities/graphics. Now in the Family editor, all my line work was "medium line" and I gave that line weight a value of 7. Back to the project, right click the sheet, set "medium line" to 7 . . . and nothing happens. Refresh, nothing. My tool bar does not have the thin line botton pushed. Another setting I'm missing? Thank you. Post edited on 2006-07-06 18:54:00
