I just finished a wood window family in which I built the frame, sill and mullions and then nested multple sash types. When I load the window family into the project and try to place the window in the window legend, I lose the sashes and only the frame displays in the legend. Would appreciate some help. Hi Greg. Did you ever figure this one out? Is it because they are nested? I am having the same trouble actually. any help is appreciated

I wish I could say that I have. You're the first to reply on this. As far as the scheduling, I had to filter our the sashes from the Schedule, that was the only was to not have 4 units show up for a 3-wide casement window unit. Would be great to have the unit and then be able to see the sashes as a subset.

Is there anyone out there who has solved this?

The only thing I can beleive is that teh nested objects do not work correctly in the legend components. Call it a bug as far as I can tell. Doesn't make much sense. I will let you know when/if I can confirm or deny this. Please do the same.

Thanks, Jaysyn

In order for nested components to show up in legends, they must be set to share. That share must be set in the nested family as well.

I have furniture families that have 7 nested families - each one shows up in my schedules.

WWHub- So what is wrong with my family here? I cannot get it to show correctly in my legend component front view. I would appreciate if you could compare this to your casework and offer me some advice.

You have built a really strage family here.  You have all of your sub components built as windows including the shutters.  Are those supposed to schedule as windows.

Have you considered grouping your elements rather than putting them all in the family?

I am all for it if it would help. Can you take a minute and retry it for me and send it back? That way I can see what you are talking about. It is a strange way to do it but It was someone elses family to start from. Didnt take the time to start from scratch. As always, your help is appreciated....

I'm having a similar problem with a generic family containing the toilet and accessories for an ADA toilet setup.  The toilet, grab bars and tp dispenser are all nested and shared.  They all schedule as expected.  But only the toilet shows up in the legend component.  I'm also having the problem that right and left side views aren't available.

 Any thoughts, anyone?
