Where is the best place to change line types? In the individual views visibility settings or in the settings?

What do you want to do? I'm not sure what you want to accomplish.

I think the overhead lines (roof outline) in floor plan show too faintly... and we're using an older style inkjet printer which is part of the problem... so I want them to show as black broken lines rather than grey lines.

Ah yes changing in the settings is the best way to go. Settings > Line styles > and change the line weight and/or the colour and remember to click apply. But you'll obviously have to change it everytime you want to draw rooflines on each project, unless you want to change it on the default so it'll automatically be set up the way you like it everytime you open a new project. :D hows melbourne going? cold? eek. I was born there and still got family there. I love brisbane better....
