Hi All,

I got this black screen patch in the middle of my screen when I fire up Revit. 

The black patch doesn't go away even when I close the program, and just stays there.

Have to restart the computer to get rid of the black patch, but once I restart the program the same thing appears.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

I came across your question about the black square in the middle of revit when searching for the same problem.

Did you eve find a solution to this? I am trying to get revit working on my new laptop and this keeps happening everytime i start the app.

I am using an AMD radeon graphics card with a RTX 5060 GPU if that helps

Any help or answer you can give would be hugely appreciated

This black patch issue happens sometimes with certain AMD or hybrid GPU setups. A few things that might help: update your graphics drivers, try toggling DirectX 11/12 in Revit’s Graphics options, or test running Revit on just the integrated GPU. Clearing Revit’s cache can also help.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

Try updating your graphics driver (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel — whichever you use) and make sure hardware acceleration in Revit is turned off temporarily to test.

Also, check if the black patch appears when you run other programs — if it does, it’s definitely a GPU overlay or driver bug.
