I have several levels in the basement of my building. I have named some of the rooms quite some time ago! Now reviewing the names they have all turned into question marks (?). I have tryed to understand why but cant get my head over it!
The rooms have walls all around, floor and slab above! Whats more confusing is that the name tags do show the name in section but only show ? in plan!.
I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the fact the basements work on a corkscrew method!
Does anyone have a suggestion?

did u upgrade to version 9 before reviewing the names??
i expireienced similar "hickups" after updating revit and opening old projects
keep it up

Question marks show up when the cut plane of your view is beneath the lower limit of your room. You probably have to raise your cut plane. See the following:
