Hello Fellows!

For my doors, i like them to be fully parametric. So I took the default door that comes with Revit, and I just made all the dimensions fully parametric (by checking the box "Instance parameter" for them. This is for the orthogonal doors (swings at 90 degrees) and works beautifully.

But for the 45 degree angle doors, I am unable to do that, because I am not able to fix the pivot point so that the door swing matches the door size.

Can someone either guide me or make me a fully parametric door with a parametric 45 door wing? Or advise me somehow?

Many thanks

MuchWanting

You need to create a custom door family where the pivot point and door panel angle are controlled by reference planes and angle parameters. Use a reference line to control the swing angle, and lock the door panel to it. Then, use an angular dimension with a parameter to control the 45° swing. Make sure the door panel's size and rotation are tied to instance parameters so it adjusts correctly. You can’t just rotate the panel freely, the pivot and swing must be built into the family using proper constraints.

How do you fix the pivot point? Does the angle automatically set the pivot point as it is?

Thanks
