For some reson I always have some sort of gray wall in my projects. Last time it was the ground plane and i learned how to turn that off. This time, it is in a commercial setup and when i rende, the windows are not there. it looks like a gray wall is behind them but there isnt. there is also a wierd shadow from the windowsill to the strange gray wall. I tried putting in a curtain wall too but it still shows up the same way. If anyone has any advice i would appreciate it.

Grey materials is the default color on items that do not have a material attached to them. If for some reason you can't figure out what materail is attached to the object, either look in the family browser under where you switch your view, or if you can't find it there still, select the object in 3D mode and open the family for editing. Once open you can open the materials within the family much more easy. A good way to find out what material is attached is to select one part of the family and then open the edit tab, there you can see what material it has attached to it, if none, create one and then when you all done load the family back into the project. As far as the gray wall, maybe it is a "enviroment" setting that needs to be changed, not quite sure. If you could post a image that whould help.
