Hi all,

Our office is using Revit 2019 & 2021. Issue is affecting both versions.

We have an issue where a user copies an element from one file, in this case a detail group, and pastes it into another file, and any dwg files that were in the project come in too.

The user fiiltered out everything except the detail group before copying. He also checked that the detail group contained only linework, nothing else.

It certainly sounds like the user accidently selected and copied the dwg file, but it doesnt seem to be the case.

When reviewing the file, the cad files that were copied did not appear in the links, and could only be removed by purging, i.e. no instances were placed, however it stil copied them into the project.

Futher more, it seems as if the CAD files are coming from multiple sources. Whether this is a form of inception - previous user copys into one file. next user copies into the next file etc. or whether the dwg files have all come in at once is undetermined.

The issue is affecting 2 users that i know of.

Im at a complete loss as to what it could be.

The CAD file is somehow connected to the detail group.  You have to look at that group outside of your project.  It is possibly a hidden CAD file within that group.

Sloppy work to begin with.
