Hi everyone,

I'm using Revit 2020.

What is the origin of lines in Object styles ?

They are in: Object styles - Model Objects - Detail Items. There is a list of lines.

Can't find it in Help or in forums.

Thanks a lot

What are you really asking here? "...What is the origin of lines in Object styles ?..."

I am asking how are they generated? What are they?

I guess they are subcategories of detail items. Correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks

I think you are asking how to make a new linetype/pattern.

Go to Manage --> Additional Settings --> Line Patterns to create a new line pattern.

Then go to Manage --> Additional Settings --> Line Styles and create a new style and apply the pattern you just made.

The line types that are in Object Styles --> Detail Items are brought into the project from detail families. Detail Families have their own line types in the family and when you load one into the project it will bring any of those line types into the project.

Thank you - the second paragraph is a complete answer to my question.

Stay safe!
