revit will not let me have different tags for same door family on different phase? whats the trick here? say i have 3x7 new door taged 01. than i have exact same door that is existing that i want to tag "(E)". its not possible even though they are on different phase. any idea how to do this?

The door property (tag - siz - type etc) belongs to the phase and can only be altered in that phase.

Here is my work-around.

I created a new tag for existing doors, then do followings:

1.  While placing the door, click “Tags” in the Option Bar.

2. In “Loaded Tags And Symbols”, under “Doors” Category, click “Loaded Tags”, then, switch between “Door Tag-AAA”, and “Ex Tag-CCC”.
