Stairs are not a family, they are a process although they may contain a family element like a nosing profile.  Watch some videos

Railings can have some family elements but they to are a process.

where I can download families like: "nosing profile" or "railings". I did not find them on RevitCity. Maybe there is an *.rvt example with stairs?
