Revit hatch patterns are the same as many other CAD programs (AutoCAD, TurboCAD etc.) The best bet is to find one that suits your needs that someone else created. Otherwise it is easiest to use a visual hatch pattern editor or you can sit down and write using a text editor. Check out http://www.cadro.com.au/hatchkit Tom

I guess I was not very clear. I am using a grey 12x24 tile for the floor tiles however there is going to a a few accent strips on the floor 6x24. Other than drawing the floor in separate pieces can I do it in one shot. Gar

The answer depends on what your final product is. If you are just going to show on CD's and for no other purpose you could do something as simple as a filled region in a view or drafting lines. If you are trying to render or develop a floor schedule then you have to go with more complex options. For rendering you could "split" the floor face and apply different materials and define a hatch pattern for each material. If you are trying to develop a floor schedule, then you would really want individule floors for estimating purposes. Tom

Thats what I thought. So I am going to have to draw each section separately which is a pain but it won't take too long. If my grout lines are staggerred how do I accomplish that? I tried drawing each strip but was not able to control the grout lines. Gar
