Can I extrude a profile with a plan profile of a L shape yet keep the same direction of the profile?

Restate your question, it is not clear.
There is no direction defined by a profile.

From the top or plan view the profile would look like an L, the section of that profile looks like 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-. Its a deck or canopy
