I have tried to depict a steel stair with metal pan treads and cannot show channel stringer sections. It seems Revit can only do rectangular stringer sections. Even creating a separate family will not work, since I cannot select any part of the stringer for the new sweep path. Has anyone dealt with this issue or know a work-around?

Turn off the stringers Revit creates by default, and use a Railing with the profile you need for the stringers, and offset it downwards into the correct position.
