Hi all:
I inserted a base plate with anchor rods family into a column footing family. I was thinking this would be a time saver because the base plate could be aligned as needed in the footing family and then inserted at the same time. However, when Revit attaches the footing to the bottom of the column it accounts for the thickness of the anchor rod sticking out, base plate and grout (6" in the family I'm using) and lowers the footing that 6" off the bottom of the column. So the column bottom stays at -2'-0" but the top of footing elevation is now -2'-6". I always set the bottom of columns to be the top of footing elevation for simple modeling and easy changes when needed. So, I want to keep it that way. Does anyone know of a way to get the top of footing to NOT account for those 6" of anchor rod, base plate and grout and attach directly to the bottom of the column?
See attached image for a graphic of what I'm describing above.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and time.
Best,
Christina
