When I draw walls with the rectangle line feature my exterior wall materials get placed on the interior side. I checked the build-up of the wall through "properties" and the exterior side shows the exterior materials and the interior finishes are in the inside. The actual construction of the wall doesn't seen to be the problem Doesn't seem to matter which linestyle I use, get the same result.

The side material is placed on is always correct relative to the wall properties. The exterior and the interior sides of walls are determined by the way a wall is drawn. Drawing a line from left to right will make the exterior on one side, while drawing a line from right to left will flip the orientation. The same applies for the square line tool. Drawing from the lower left corner up or the upper right corner down will make the exterior face inside the box. Just pick the walls that are "backwards", right click, and select "flip orientation". This will flip flop the interior and exterior sides.
