Hello all and thank you in advance for any help,

I’ve been using Revit in a not so conventional way. In this case, scaffolding.

To do this I’ve simply made structural families for each of the pieces. (Columns for legs, beams for braces, etc)

The issue that I’m running into is with creating the scaffold vertical diagonal bracing as a beam family. Everything works great with the exception of the connection points. Because Revit basically takes the shape and stretches it from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’ when placing as a brace in the elevation view, the connecting pieces require some formulas to rotate to the correct vertical angle.

I can manually enter the height of the already given “End Level Offset” shown in the ‘Constraints’ section under the properties box, and then with some simple math determine the angle from the given “Length” and manually entered “Height” value.

I would like to automate this though by having the “End Level Offset” automatically feed into my shared parameter “Height.”

Thank you and any help is greatly appreciated!
