Assuming by CAD this is an AutoCAD DWG file. Open it first in CAD and delete anything you dont want including all sheet views. Use lisp app "Iron" in AutoCAD to flatten everything in drawing to 0 (z plane). audit, purge and overkill everything. Set to correct scale to match Revit ( eg Metric use millimetres.) Move all drawing content in AutoCAD to 0,0,0. Save and close. In Revit go to floor plan that the AutoCAD file applies and open it, insert tab, Link section,  link CAD, navigate to autocad file, set import units to millimetres, positioning to manual centre and click open. You should see it.
