Is there a way to continue wall sweeps around the returned end of a wall. I can make it return on itsel, but not around the end of a wall.

Put the sweep on the adjacent wall in the same manner you did on the wall with the sweep shown in your image. You can then stretch, shrink, or return that sweep however you need. The sweep is put in by default from end to end, but can be modfied in plan view.

There is no adjacent wall, it is the end of a single wall that I want to wrap the cornice around.

Now I'm on the same page. That's even easier. Once you've changed the return on a sweep so it cut back on itself (the way you already have, you can drag the size of the return independent of the corner. In 3D view click on the object once so it's active. Then drag the little dots that define that objects extents. See image.

Excellent! I noticed that you have to "change sweep returnts", then select the end to make the dots show up. In some cases, I had to delete the wall sweep and start over, as the dots wouldn't show up no matter what I did. Quirky, but it works, thanks.
