I'm trying to create a 6x12 herringbone pattern using a 2x6 as an example:

*HerringBone 2x6,  brick herringbone

;%TYPE=MODEL

45,            0,             0,             2,             2,             6,             -2

135,           1.414,         1.414,         2,             -2,            6,             -2

Here's what I came up with, but it doesn't work:

*HerringBone 6x12,  brick herringbone

;%TYPE=MODEL

45,            0,             0,             6,             6,             12,             -6

135,           4.242,         4.242,         6,             -6,            12,             -6

Advice on what I'm doing wrong, maybe the sqaure root equation is off?

I made one for you using hatchkit.

*6x12 Herringbone,6x12 Herringbone

;%TYPE=MODEL

-45,8.4853,8.4853,18,6,12,-12

45,0,0,18,-6,12,-12

-45,4.2426,4.2426,18,6,6,-18

45,12.728,4.2426,18,-6,6,-18

The math changes cuz the original pattern is a 1:3 ratio, yours is 1:2.

I've always found it much easier to make the pattern orthogonal (not at 45 degree)...  makes the numbers much simpler and rational.  Only means you have to rotate the pattern in your model.  The other pattern will also probably start to get off if the area is large enough.

Here's one i made for a 3x6 pattern.  I think it works.  You can probably just double the numbers to make 6x12.

Hope it helps.
