I am trying to setup a filter so that i can overide certain wall cores cut pattern from my view template. No matter how i set up the filter, it would overide entire wall, rathernthen just its layer, even though i have it set up so only core material by name is overiden. Am i not doing this right? 

What i am trying to do is to have core layer in framed walls shaded when cut in plan. I want these same walls to show its core without pattern when cut in sections. I thought filters would be good idea since i can include it in my view template for floor plans. But maybe there is another way?
