hi,
i have made this custom generic family pit. i would like to add a point in the centre of this void extrusion that i can snap a beam or pipe or anything to like a "3d snapping" upon insertion of the pipe or beam etc.
how do i do this?

Try to place an invisible model line at the point you'd like to be snapped.

I tried before my reply.
Please do followings:
1. Select the plane for the snapping point.
2. Draw a model line using invisible line.
3. Load the family into a project.
4. in 3D view, hovering your cursor over the family, that invisible line would be shown as a blueish line, then snap that point.
