Hi all,

Long story short, my new firm, is currently reinforcing slabs in Cad then Importing the Cad back to Revit..... ugh ....

I'm creating 2D reinforcing details.

Please see attached,

1- I have created Family Types for different Scales to control the Gap between the bars. However when I the load family into my project, I have to manually pick the scale. how can I have the family recognize  the scale of the view it's being inserted to?

2- I will eventually try to create a Ribbon Button for the Reinforcing family otherwise I have to pick them from Annotate -> component -> detail component, so to add to the first question, will I be able to have the family recognize scale in the process of creating Ribbon Button? Any advice as to how I can attack the problem of Ribbon button creation.

Thanks

A detail is just that - a fixed detail view.  If you are trying to import these into a plan, you don't want a detail.

i don't get the answer.

In my other firm, we had the same details and somehow the details could recognize the scale of the view, also we had a ribbon button for the details as well.

" If you are trying to import these into a plan, you don't want a detail " ... what do i need then?
