HI ALL,

I want to create a copy of our General Notes and Typical details in Revit.

I was wondering if there is a software or program that I could feed Cad files to and create Revit 2d Drafting views.

Thanks

My suggestion is DON'T!

For your general notes, create a legend and use cut and paste to transfer from CAD view to Revit.

Cad can kill your Revit.  Most of us came from a CAD background and we all had legacy details we wanted to use.  A few of these imported into a project typically happened with all of us but we all soon learned what problems they create.  Remember, even if you do import, how would yo edit or maintain these?  My best suggestion is to only import when you absolutly have to.

Otherwise:

I wrote up a process we use when importing CAD.  You can read that here.

Thanks for your reply,

I refuse to import CAD into Revit Smile.

a while back, i downloaded a program that converted pdf into Cad drawings. it was not perfect but I could edit and fix the Generated Cad file, now i'm wondering if there is such a program for Converting Cad to Revit 2d.

I can Copy/Pate the text from general notes but what about all the typical details? do i have to create from scratch in revit?

thanks and cheers

Please read what I wrote on the link I posted.  In that post, I gave a detailed process on how to use the CAD to create a Revit detail.  After you have done a couple, you will see it is not a hard process and much simplier than starting from scratch.
