I am working on a Revit model that has been linked into my project. I want to add a text field to the Room Tag so I can give each room a Type Number. Basically I want the Room Tag to say the name of the room, room number, and the designation I can manually add of "Type 1" or Type 2, 3, etc... Because I am linking in somone elses Revit Model, I can't edit this character as you would in a model you created from scratch.

Create a shared parameter in your shared parameter file, then add that parameter as a project parameter to rooms and edit your room tag also adding that parameter.

Does not work. I created a shared paramter, added it to the label in the room tag. Loaded that same parameter into the project, the Room Tag label is still not editable.

You must have done something wrong.   Did you follow all of the instructions?  Have you worked with shared parameters before?  The shared parameter must be created first and that file linked to both the project and the tag (in the family editor).   This is NOT just a name.
