To cut a long story short...

I started a project in Revit 2016, for names sake i'll call this project A and so on.

Saved it as a 2018 version (Project B) and loaded it into a new project that is shared with our electrical department (Project C).

Now that Project B is loaded I can only tag pipes etc, but if i want to physically change anything in Project C, I must open Project B and reload it as a managed link.

Is there a way to have project B in Project C without having to switch if work needs carried out?

Sorry if wordy and confusing.

You can only change what is in a model within the model itself. You cannot change anything in a model while it is linked into another model. This is one good reason, to try to model everything in a single model. It is taking steps towards BIM Level 3 (UK) and it is less running around jumping between models.
