My 3d window gives me an error message when I try to rotate or zoom. Message is "an error has occurred while drawing the contents of this window" and then the widdow just closes. This file had a datacadd file imported as a background to start which may be part of problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I always try to put files like that imported file in a different workset so it can be turned off.

You may need to delete the 3d view as it may be glitched. Tru recreating the 3D view and working in the new one. I can't talk of DataCadd files, lest to say that Revit in general has a history of glitching when external files are imported into it. Try to work without them but if you do, then import them into AutoCAD and delete all information from the DWG that isn't required, put everything on a single layer, same colour, purge, audit, use iron.lsp to flatten the DWG, use overkill to remove lines on lines. The aim is make the DWG as simple as possible and reduce the amount of external content that can be brought into Revit and build up in the system.
