wondering if it is possible to turn on/off worksets from a linked model e.g. we have a site model linked into our building model and on our site model we have a lot of trees and those trees are on their own workset in the linked model. while we are in our building model and have the site model with the trees on their own workset linked into our building model we would like to be able to turn off the workset the trees are on in the linked site model from the building model. is this possible and/or is there another solution. the reason for this is that the trees are slowing down our model

You can contol everything in the linked model that you can in your own VG setting -  Look under VG.

To turn off objects in a linked model globally. i.e. across all views, do the following.

Open the linked model, make it collaborative, create a workset called trees, place all trees in that workset, save and close. Open building model, go to manage links, select your site model, go to bottom of window and click on worksets, in worksets window close the trees workset. close.

That should do it.

This works especially well for references lines, levels and grids too.
