dear all,
i have been using revit close to 10 years- but it seems strange to me about a 50 storey building: using R17
Becasue of repetative nature of the work we have many groups- the following groups duplicated many time as neccessary:
A group of walls/basic plumbing fittings
A typical floor plans
A group for basement floors and core walls...
A group for the floor/core walls
A group for balconies
A Seperate file for shofting window layouts...
A sperate file for strcutural columns
etc....
however- the file reaches 1000mb and then goes back down to 750mb...
any ideas ?

I hope you are managing this with worksets!
As you work, the file size continues to grow but there is waste in that file that has not been cleared out. Making a new central always compacts the file back down.
I have never worked with a 1000mb file. Perhaps something in Revit triggers a rebuild of the file.

it is Odd
there file isstill pretty much managelbe- using WS-
but the save/sync process takes time
there are three active users and geenrally its under control- and the re-make CeTRL helps- but still... very odd
some data on the building:
55 storeys inc the basement
700sqm gross floor area
2 BASIC WALL FACADES with punch wins (seperate LINK) about 20mb
2 CW facades with balconies...
5% of furniture is 3D
not much in terms of spcial families- none as complicated as 1mb
all is usual- the rest was mentiones already
