Hi I am hoping someone is able to help me. I have completed a house, and when I shoot 3d camear views, the whole model looks broken in the view. I have attached a picture showing this. I tried to copy and paste into another model to see if it does the same there and it seems as if it is the topography which is causing this? Seems odd? I am using Revit 2015, and I ahve also tried upgrading to a 2016 version hoping it might fix it, but it didnt. Thank you

Have a look at the image I attached. The walls are going through the roof and walls also seem to be "hidden" and when deleting elements in a tester file, they seem to correct themselves when I delete the topography. In 3d view the model seems fine, it is only when a shoot a camera view that the "model breaks"

Are you using pads below your building to flatten the topo underneath it? and have you been around the buildings perimeter and added in spot levels to ensure the ground levels directly outside your building is the correct height relationship? ( I would normally make these points 150mm below the internal floor finish). You could try deleting that camera view and recreating it. You could also check your graphics card is suitable, has the latest drivers and check hardware acceleration in Revit.

Hi Beaucoupnice,

Please see my answers below to your questions:

Are you using pads below your building to flatten the topo underneath it? - Yes

and have you been around the buildings perimeter and added in spot levels to ensure the ground levels directly outside your building is the correct height relationship? ( I would normally make these points 150mm below the internal floor finish). - not yet

You could try deleting that camera view and recreating it. - done and still have the problem

You could also check your graphics card is suitable, has the latest drivers and check hardware acceleration in Revit. - ok checked this and acceleration is on, tried switching it off and still gave me problems. I also updated driver software - the graphics card is a very good one. I also checked the model on another computer and shows the same problem

I have also tested the model in Revit 2015 and 2016. What is strange is that when I delete the topography, the model doesn’t "break" in camera view. It is ONLY the camera view it is doing this in. Plans are fine, elevations are fine, Iso is fine and 3D spin around is fine. It is ONLY the camera views?? It doesnt make any sense?

This is the graphics card I am using, and what revit says. What is strange is that I have been using this computer for 3 years now and never had an issue?

I am having the same problem, when I remove the topogrphy the model works fine but as soon as I place the topo back in it corrupts the view. Did you manage to resolve this issue? Although it is not technically affecting the model it is very frustratating

What happens if the topography is in a linked model?

Make sure you have all updates installed.
