Well lads, new to the forum but have been lurking for a while! I'm in the process of creating a library of Revit materials for a concrete products company. The problem I'm having is that the DOPs (Declaration of Performance) that the company produce for their products declare a limited range of specifications, namely density and compressive strength on the physical side and thermal conductivity on the thermal. This is common practice in Europe (as set out by the European Standards) and likely elsewhere in the world.

As I am sure you are all aware the assets in Revit contain far more fields than this and it is not possible to leave them blank or enter "No performance declared". For obvious legal reasons the company are not in a position to declare property values that they do not test for in the lab such as shear modulus or permeability etc. Does anyone know if there is a way to customize the fields that appear in the assets? I have been at it for a while now and am getting nowhere. I have found the source code for the assets in the program files but I don't think it would be viable to edit this as it would mean that for others to use the materials they would have to edit theirs too.

I find it astonishing that Revit does not make it possible to customize the assets (that I can find) and to remove or add fields where necessay. If anyone has on help or advice to offer I would be very grateful.

You should take this question directly to Autodesk.
