... tile base trim? If you could elabourate on what that is, perhaps post an image on the kind you're after? (sorry, terminology is a little different where Im from...) haha, but whatever it is I'll probably suggest an in-place family

A trim which is added on the bottom of a wall. It is like crown moulding for the floor. Gar

If you are on Revit 9 there is a new family called 3D 2pick Family that will let you do that, it is a "generic model line based" if you need more info I will be more than happy to help you

Load your own Profile.rft family then Modelling... Host Sweep... Wall Sweep Properties... Edit/New... and select your profile family Or if you want the Sweep to reside on all of the walls then Select the wall... Properties... Edit/New... Edit Structure Preview in Section View... Sweeps... and Load your Profile.rft family It's not unlike the reveals you asked about earlier.

Skirtings? There are a couple of ways to make them, like you can use the wall modifier to host a sweep, but this way runs into problems real quick (skirtings dont go through walls etc.) It does depend on how you like to work, but the best way we are finding is using in-place families. The learning curve is a little steeper but once you get the hang of it you can do a big house in under 10 mins. Draw your profile as a family and load it into the drawing (you could draw a couple of different profiles and have options). Then just draw sweeps (reference plane as the floor level) and specify the profile you want. There are alot of resons why in-place families work very well; you can turn the visibility of the skirtings off in plan views, you can set the material and profile up to be parameters so changing the skirtings through the whole house is as simple as editing a family parameter... Hope this helps, if you arent talking about skirting boards Im sure it will apply anyway! Post edited on 2006-05-25 18:00:45

I have base trim on my walls, but I do not want it to show up in plan.  How can I turn this off?

Thanks,
