Hello!

I am a graduate student of civil engineering following a stream specialized in underground structures. I want to simulate a tunnel junction in Sofistik and I am trying to import the 3D geometry from Revit.

At first, I created a generic model face-based family and I changed the family category to Structural framing. That way my customised object can cut the "hosting wall" automatically when it is inserted in my project and at the same time I am able to define a structural material (and even create the tunnel rebars if I want to). My problem is that I cannot activate the analytical model within the family and as a result I can only export the geometry of the hosting object to Sofistik... I tried nesting a "structural beams and braces" - family to a face- based one (and the reverse) but it does not seem to work properly...

Is there any way to create a face-based structural family? or else... how can somebody create a stuctural family which intersects automatically with a hosting face (not linear geometry) and simultaneously has activated the analytical model option??

Furthermore... Is it possible to customise the "structural surfaces" of the analytical model in  Revit? (I imagine that the desirable shape of the analytical model cannot be created in an automatic way...) :/

I know... propably too much questions... Is there someone that has been facing a similar problem? ...or knows how do we design such geometries in Revit Structure?

Thank very much in advance....
