We are working on a project where we would like to shade the new walls with a transparent shading so that the matial hatch will still show (i.e. a CMU wall whould still have the cross hatch but it would also be shaded gray).  I have tried phasing but this does not allow for transparency to the solid fill.  does anyone know of a way to achieve this?

i think the only option is to set your view to shaded ( shaded color on material and surface/cut pattern similtaniously )and adjust the other elements to show up correctly but that never work flawlessly , you will need some manual ovverrides

This would work, except i would have to go and change all of the material shading options on all of the matieal used in the plan.  i would think there would have to be another way.

We have typically always used phases with existing elements set to light (screened & sometimes filled) and new as normal.
