Hello Revit city community,
I'm starting with revit and i have few difficulties mainly one big that i hope you will be able to help me.
I would like to place an object ( a solar panel ) on a frame which have differents orientations. There are two beams parallele but at a different height and i need to place my object on them. For that i should choose a construction plane but it's not possible to get one slopped, or at least i don't know how to do it.
If you may help me with this. I attache you a picture that will describe you my problem maybe more than what i wrotte you because my english writting may be improved.
The red area on the picture are the one where i should place my object; The object is in blue a bit higher. Now how to make a construction plan with a specific tilt between two areas. Or if you have another way to do it I am in as well
Thank you in advance for your help, hope some one may help me
Best regards
maxime

That should be pretty easily accomplished. It will partly depend on how the REVIT family was created and hosted.
Either way, I would start by making my 'workplane' the face of the top flange of the beam. Then the family should slide up and down that plane. Always check the REVIT options bar to see if it's being placed by face or by plane etc. . . .
One way or another what you are attempting is 101% doable.

Thank you @dgcad for your advices. I managed to do it in a different way but i have still few problems
To make my workplane I created a 3d volume catched on 3D objects with this volume i was able to create this specific workplane.
Your first way, would not work because i have to place it on the top of the two faces of the two beams. But they are not at the same heights. I managed by creating this 3D Volume to use it like a face for my workplane.
And thank you again, I learned something with your second way and the way to chose between being placed by face or by plane.
Andnow this workplane is not oriented as i would like. Is there any way to oriented it as i want? Or i have to orient my project following the workplane?
The object i have to add on this work plane is not even oriented like the work plane can i change that as well? because when i want i want to turn it with a rotation there is like a warning message telling me that it's not possible to turn it.
Please find attached a picture of my second problem.
Thank you gain,
Best regards
