How does one start a new design of a building that will be placed on a sloping site where the foundation will not be at one continuous level. The new building will be stepping up a hillside. How do you get started?

Build the foundation in sections as it steps down the hill. Offset the bottom of the (foundation) wall more as it steps down and then join geometry.
