I'm looking to set up Revit at home and currently just have a macbook at home. I don't want to split my hard drive and get bootcamp, so I'm looking for a used desktop pc to run just revit on. I am painfully aware of my lack of actual computer knowledge so am looking for some guidance on what to look for in a solid home set up. I'm definitely on the low-budget side, so scouring ebay/craigslist, but don't want to get messed over since I'm not the most savvy. Will something like what I've listed below work? What's most key that I should look for and what could be sacrificed? Thanks for any tips!

One find: Dell Studio XPS 8000 Desktop D03M Intel Core i7 860 2.80GHz 250GB 8GB

A friend's suggestion: HP Elitebook 8570W Intel i7 2.4GHz 8GB

Thoughts??

Hello,

why you do not want to make a bootcamp? It is what I already made for 4 years and I have no problem. Later for the pc which you quoted, he can do, but he is going to be great slow if you throw a 3D rendering

sorry for my inglish i'm french lol Smile
