Hi all,

I am constructing building with wooden structure In walls there is insulation layer that is wall consisting of only insulation. In this insulation I've got beams that are narrower than wall. It wouls make a lot of sens to cut insulation with beam so that it's volume is smaller and to see beam in section line. Has anyone encontered such a problem and solved it? I tried join and cut.

Cheers!

I would just create a standard wall with a thickness layer that represents the insulation. Give the layer material the correct insulation pattern when it is cut so it hatches properly. Then place your walls where they need to be.For the beams, just place them in the wall within the insulation buildup zone after the walls are placed. Provided the beams are modelled correctly and show up as the correct material when cut they will show the right material in section.I guess if you wanted to be exact you could create a wall for the wall buildup between the beam and the external wall and then create a wall for the wall buildup between the beam and the internal wall. But that would be a lot more work and you would only really see it in a large scale detail, in which case you could have just masked off anything not displaying correctly.
